Financial Analyst Our client is searching for a Financial Analyst to join their team. This role will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data, and then relating it to potential business trends and issues. A successful candidate will have an analytical mindset and be able to resolve financial variances and business process issues. This role works very closely with the Accounting Administrator, Director of Finance and various stakeholders.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Complete full cycle accounting duties including ensuring transactions are properly coded and correcting entries are done as necessary
- Pull the financial data and prepare monthly budget monitoring templates
- Provide information, interpretation or instructions, giving assistance in preparation of budgets
- Provide instructions to stakeholders as to the information needed and the timelines as it relates to the budgeting and financial reporting processes
- Review budgets, spending and forecast with managers for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare supplementary analysis and make recommendations as necessary
- Prepare support for financial and other reporting to funders and governing bodies as necessary
- Provide advice and support to non-finance managers on financial information to assist in planning and controlling their operations
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis, as required
Your strengths include: - University Degree in Commerce, with an Accounting or Finance Major
- Accounting designation is required, candidates near the completion of an accounting designation may be considered
- 3+ years of experience in full cycle accounting, financial reporting and budgeting
- Experience with QuickBooks Premier Accounting Software is an asset
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel is preferred
