Controller Our client in Calgary is currently seeking an experienced
Controller to join their team. A successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management including day-to-day oversight of corporate accounting and accounts payable, external financial reporting, internal management reporting, treasury management, internal control policies and procedures, as well as oversee tax compliance. The Controller will report to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the CFO and broader senior leadership.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Supervise daily administration of the organization’s finances.
- Ensure all statutory requirements are met including corporate status, withholding payments (CPP, EI), income tax, goods, and service tax.
- Advise on appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions, processes, or lines of service.
- Manage accounting team and provide guidance and mentorship.
- Serve as the lead contact and oversee the organization’s internal and external audits.
- Ensure accounting internal controls are adhered.
- Responsible for the ERP implementation to AX365
- Ensure accounting software is optimally designed and utilized to support organizational reporting requirements, decision making, business insight, and the generation of timely corporate information.
- Assist the Director of Finance and the Executive Team with the preparation of corporate materials.
Your strengths include: - CPA designation with previous industry experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards and operational accounting best practices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory management concepts.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in an ERP implementation.
