Corporate Controller
  
Are you looking for a permanent opportunity where you can show off your accounting and leadership skills? If yes, then Recruitment Partners has the role for you. Our client is searching for a hands on Controller who thrives in a collaborative environment. 
  
The candidate would be responsible for overseeing the company's corporate accounting reporting, accounting, budgets, variance analysis and variety of activities. The Controller will work and report directly to the VP Finance and Accounting. Your success will be defined by your ability to: 
   
  • Implementation of policies and procedures for the corporate accounting team
  • Financial planning, tax reporting and providing executive reporting package at a senior level
  • Participate in developing the annual business plan and related financial budget, cashflow, and proforma
  • Ensuring Financial Statements are accurate and complete in accordance with accounting principles and standards
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly & quarterly financial reports and other financial statements as required
  • Ensure compliance with all local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Review of all accounting systems and recommendation for upgrades and replacement as necessary
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting activities within the operating entities
  • Review cost transactions and allocate according to approved budgets
  • Travel between Edmonton and Calgary as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
     
  
Your strengths include:  
  • An accounting designation (CPA) with a public practice background
  • 5 plus years in controllership, financial reporting, and financial management
  • Excels in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem solving skills
  • A demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at once 
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Working well under pressure
