Pole Line Engineer Our client is looking for a Pole Line Engineer to join their team in Vaughn, ON. The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking, self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a large cross-functional team.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Analysis of utility poles for aerial and underground telecommunications.
- Produce various deliverables, including construction plans, make-ready designs, etc.
- Update Design databases and maintain system maps, including a base map, cable, fiber routes, etc.
- Incorporate field changes and as-built changes from draft prints to the system database.
- Prepare construction packages and manages the approval process.
- Create and validate detailed BOM (Bill of material) lists.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Your strengths include: - Post-secondary diploma in Electrical, another relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum five years’ experience in pole line engineering.
- Registered P. Eng in Ontario
- Expert Spidacalc skills
- Must be experienced with HONI Make Ready packages and Pole Line Analysis
- Expert knowledge of CSA and HONI distribution standards
- Excellent knowledge, skills, and working experience with Autodesk AutoCAD are assets.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with customer-specific applications such as NetX and SpatialNet is an asset.
- Experience with GIS software and tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, and 3-GIS is an asset.
- Knowledge of RF/CATV and fiber systems (fiber-to-the-home/FTTH, FTTB, FTTx) is an asset.
