HR is a business function focusing on the staffing needs and responsibilities of a company. Employees are often the largest business asset in a company, so companies spend copious amounts of time and effort evaluating their human resource management systems.
HR recruitment often include recruiting, hiring, training and reviewing employee performance of individuals working in the business. Generally divided into three major areas: staffing, employee compensation, and defining work and workflow.
Boiled down, the purpose of Human Resources is to maximize the productivity of an organization by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees. This mandate is unlikely to change, and will never cease to exist.
