Account Manager Our Transportation and Logistics client is searching for an Account Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and providing commercial solutions to customers that result in healthy business growth. A successful candidate will have a passion for service and business development. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Meet and exceed annual business targets
- Maintain prescribed sales processes and behaviours that lead to results as per plan.
- Find commercial solutions for qualified customers leading to close
- Conduct sales activities according to the company’s sales plan to include keeping, attaining, recapturing, and expanding account management
- Manage mixed sales accounts to funnel short-term, mid-term, and long term prospects into ideal clients
- Record and track activities in the company’s CRM
- Provide Operations with clean and concise information related to client needs when quotes are required
- Develop and expand opportunities through discovery of client challenges due to current provider or market gaps that the company can address
- Support the team in the development of opportunities and professional growth as a mentor and a teacher
- Contribute and participate in negotiations with customers including contract development, contract renewal and rate or service fee development and implementation
- Contribute to, and share market intelligence in relation to, Lathe competition, regulatory matters, prospective clients, existing customers, vendors and partners.
- Lead account management and commercial terms with assigned clients, and support other team members with account management as required.
- Contribute to sales planning and marketing plans
- Develop strategies and tactics in pursuit of new market spaces
- Measure inputs and outcomes
- Improve strategy, and activity to continuously improve success rates
- Nurture and strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Participate in individual performance management and personal growth opportunities on a scheduled basis
- Contribute to an foster clear and direct communications, education and enhancement of customer service with the Operations teams and clients
Your strengths include: - Bachelor’s of Commerce, MBA or equivalent post-secondary degree
- 5+ years of sales experience in the Transportation or Logistics Industry
- Structured Sales training
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Passionate about sales and business development
- Committed to continuous learning and improvement
