Senior Payroll Admin (Hybrid) Our client is looking for a Senior Payroll Admin to join their team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will manage the entire payroll process independently and ensure compliance with all provincial regulations.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Complete full-cycle multi-provincial payroll processing.
- Ensure accurate deductions, remittances, and payroll filings for all provinces.
- Verify and follow up on timesheets (weekly) with branch managers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage onboarding and layoffs of employees
- Manage the health spending account, including on-boarding and off-boarding employees
- Effectively communicate and provide exceptional customer service by responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers and accounting managers
- Prepare WCB/WSIB reports and files
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll duties, including preparing and reconciling payroll reports, making the bi-weekly payroll journal entry, processing T4s, T4A’s and T5018’s and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the finance department.
Your strengths include: - Proven experience in independently managing payroll operations.
- Experience in processing payroll across multiple provinces is required
- Experience with Payworks payroll software is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to proactively address and resolve payroll inquiries.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple payroll timelines effectively.
- US payroll experience or the willingness to learn is an asset as this role may evolve.
