Our client is searching for an outgoing Senior Accountant who will be excited to come in and work with an engaging team! The successful candidate should be familiar with full cycle accounting and have a desire to collaborate and assist other members of the organization, and not be afraid to make changes. Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Perform the month-end close process including reconciliation of accounts, review of operations, investigation of discrepancies and preparation of financial statements
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual budgets
Prepare year-end working papers and corporate tax returns for external accountants
Assist with or provide reports to Senior Management and/or Board of Directors
Lead and provide oversight to the financial services team
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal government reporting requirements, filings and related payments
Develop and ensure policies, standards and procedures established for internal controls and record security are adhered to
Maintain accounting practices, processes and internal controls to ensure that reported results comply with applicable financial reporting standards
Review and streamline processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement action plans
Provide recommendations for changes and enhancements to business practices to senior management based on thorough analysis of financial performance data
Manage a team of several individuals to achieve required results within tight timelines

Other special projects as assigned
Your strengths include:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting and financial experience
CPA designation is considered an asset
Ability to communicate to all audiences within the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative team-oriented attitude
Leadership experience with direct and indirect reporting relationships
Works well in a fast-paced growth environment
Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience with Microsoft NAV (preferred) and/or aptitude with other ERP/ financial systems
Strong Microsoft Office skills; including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
