QA/QC Manager
 
Our well-established Industrial Construction client is searching for an experienced QA/QC Manager to join their team. This role will be accountable for ensuring all field projects meet code and specific client requirements. The QA/QC Manager will maintain quality control staffing levels and supervise the quality control functions and achieve the required outcomes.  
 
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Ensure all field projects meet code and client specific requirements
  • Train field QC personnel including onsite project setup with field QC personnel
  • Complete regularly scheduled Site Visits to all active field projects
  • Coordinate field Quality Control personnel
  • Support the field based projects from a QC standpoint
  • Maintain the relevant field QC tracking systems
  • Ensure that properly trained personnel are allocated to projects
  • Audit project field QC documents
  • Assign tasks, provide training, and review and maintain adequate staff levels
  • Request deviations from client specifications with input from shop and/or project managers
  • Generate non-conformance reports (NCR) when fabrication requirements or client specifications are not met
  • Support the delivery of the companies strategy and long term plans by creating robust implementation plans, monitoring progress and providing professional insight and feedback
  • Leverage understanding of the organization and company processes to build coalitions of support for strategy and long-term plans
  • Develop and fosters wide-ranging relationships across the enterprise with colleagues and superiors to share organizational expertise, make strategic decisions, and drive performance
  • Achieve objectives on time and to the defined standards of the company.
Your strengths include:
  • 2-5 years Quality Control supervisory experience
  • Welding engineering and/or CSA W178.2 and/or API 510, 570, and 653 certifications and/or Alberta Welding Examiner certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of code documentation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in developing and monitoring of project QA/QC budgets
  • Experience in project planning, execution, management, and communication with all groups.
