Logistics Account Representative Our client is searching for a Logistics Account Representative to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing and coordinating logistics and dispatching operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. A successful candidate will be adept at building strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring smooth operations, timely deliveries and exceptional service.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their logistics and dispatch needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction
- Provide updates on shipment status, proactively resolve issues, and manage expectations
- Assign and dispatch drivers to shipments, ensuring optimal routing and timely deliveries
- Monitor driver schedules, availability, and performance, adjusting assignments as needed
- Communicate shipping details and requirements to drivers, providing clear instructions and support
- Respond promptly to driver inquiries, addressing issues such as delays, equipment problems and route changes
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, schedules, and updates
- Plan, schedule and coordinate shipments to meet client requirements and deadlines
- Track and monitor shipments to meet client requirements and deadlines
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery, addressing any exceptions in real-time
- Collaborate with carriers to secure capacity and negotiate rates within budget constraints
- Prepare and review shipping documents , including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, dispatch operations, and communications
- Identify and resolve logistical and dispatch-related challenges, including delays or equipment issues
- Communicate with stakeholders to provide solutions and maintain service levels
- Escalate complex issues to management when necessary
- Analyze logistics and dispatch data to identify trends, optimize routes, and find cost-saving opportunities
- Generate reports on shipment performance, driver efficiency, and operational metrics
Your strengths include: - Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in logistics, freight management, or dispatching is highly preferred
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems and dispatch software
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
