The Opportunity As a Director, Executive Search, you will be instrumental in initiating and managing client and candidate relationships within the executive search space, specifically in the not-for-profit, public sector, and mission-driven organizations. This role requires a proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to build and maintain trusted partnerships with senior leaders and decision-makers dedicated to social impact. You will leverage your deep industry knowledge, extensive professional network, and innovative sourcing techniques to connect exceptional executive talent with our clients.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Develop and manage strong business relationships with executive leaders, board members, and senior decision-makers in the not-for-profit and public interest sectors
- Conduct in-depth client consultations to understand mission driven business needs, organizational culture, and leadership requirements
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive networking, sector engagement, and community involvement
- Design and implement tailored search strategies that align with clients’ long-term talent acquisition and impact-driven goals
- Utilize innovative and targeted search methodologies to identify, attract, and engage top executive talent with experience in social impact organizations
- Conduct in-depth candidate evaluations, including competency assessments, career trajectory analysis, and alignment with mission-driven leadership requirements
- Guide candidates through the entire executive recruitment process, from initial engagement to successful placement
- Manage salary negotiations, benefits discussions, and other employment terms to ensure successful outcomes while considering sector specific compensation structures
- Lead end-to-end retained executive search assignments, ensuring a consultative, data-driven, and high-touch experience for clients and candidates
- Provide clients with regular, detailed progress reports and market insights throughout the search process
- Coordinate and manage confidential and high-stakes recruitment projects with discretion and professionalism
- Ensure a seamless client and candidate experience by managing timelines, expectations, and deliverables effectively
Your strengths include: - Proven experience in retained executive search, talent acquisition, or high-level recruitment consulting within the not-for-profit or public interest sectors
- Strong business acumen with the ability to engage and advise senior executives, board members, and public sector leaders
- A results-oriented, strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated success in business development, networking, and relationship management within mission-driven organizations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach tailored to social impact organizations
- Ability to manage multiple executive search assignments simultaneously while maintaining high service quality
- Proficiency in executive search methodologies, market mapping, and passive candidate engagement strategies
